They are just over 20 pounds, but I have and I can say that it scales well enough at home. In addition, they have come with plastic chairs for the feet, if you have carpet instead of a hard ground:

So hold since March and still fully functional (even for a battery even more and I weigh) me every day. =)
Scales can never be exact, are not measured as in your environment. However, you can select a number from Argos for £ 10, which states that weigh under 18 stone.
